Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation
Sunday Series
This 4-week online series is designed for the beginning or seasoned practitioner to:
cultivate an ongoing practice;
strengthen an existing one;
and learn more about mindfulness in a welcoming and kind environment where all experiences and questions belong.
As a participant, you will receive tools to awaken from habitual patterns of response in order to meet each moment afresh. We will practice mindfulness of breath, body, thoughts and emotions and look at ways of bringing our practice alive in the world. We will reflect upon challenges and triumphs, personal and collective, with wisdom and compassion.Sliding Scale Tuition $80-$120 for series

Come as you are. Bring your bad attitude! This is about freedom, acceptance, and belonging.

If you thought that meditation would yield a life consisting of only the easy or pleasant elements of existence, think again!! Part of being human is experiencing a dynamic range of thoughts, sensations, and emotions. Meditation practice involves cultivating the presence, self-knowledge, and ultimately freedom to choose how to relate to the many facets of our shared humanity.
In the quest to cultivate compassion, we begin with compassion for ourselves, which means owning and loving all of the parts of ourselves. The irony is that when the less socially acceptable parts of ourselves are loved, they become allies and strengths. They are all elements of the compelling prism that exists within us.
In January’s weekly classes, we will cultivate courage to be with any feeling or attitude, and we will release the flustrating notion that we’re supposed to be internally calm, cool, and collected at all times. (*flustrating = flustered + frustrating :)

This is an Online Retreat for anyone who’s interested in understanding the connection between inner freedom and outer freedom, how presence, Self-knowledge and compassion can lead the way to personal and collective well-being.
A world of false hierarchies requires our participation. In Mindfulness and Social Transformation, we will practice recognizing when social conditioning is superseding our values and consider how we might create the conditions for a world of safety, dignity, and belonging for all, starting with ourselves.
